Chef
Maurizio Ferrarese

Alba diners can experience Ferrarese’s food philosophy in his signature menu dishes.
A native of northern Italy, Maurizio Ferrarese aspired to a culinary career growing up. He soon had the opportunity to work at the renown Villa d’Este and Touring Club Italiano, before beginning his long, successful career with the Four Seasons hotel group throughout Europe and later the U.S. In 2010, Four Seasons brought him to Houston as Executive Chef. In 2018, Ferrarese joined the Hotel Granduca team.
In his signature menu dishes, composed of few simple ingredients to enhance their flavor, Alba diners can experience Ferrarese’s food philosophy. His cooking inspiration comes from his own experiences, inspired by vivid memories of family meals from his mother’s kitchen in a small Italian town.
Often a winner of food-inspired awards, Ferrarese is one of the top chefs in the Risotto Festival, and he is considered a truffle master. A must-try dish: black truffle and scallops.
Married since 2007 to his wife Whitney, Maurizio is living the life he dreamt of—preparing award-winning dishes in an elegant restaurant while raising a loving family of four children with the love of his life.
